How Many Students Attend a Skills Center? |
| About 7,000 students attend Washington Skills Centers from high schools in approximately 85 school districts. These numbers are up significantly from numbers in 1989-90. |
| Students attend Skills Centers for many reasons -- to get a head-start on higher education -- to develop work and maturity skills -- or to earn entry level occupation competencies and/or industry certifications. |
| There are many program opportunities offered at Skills Centers that are not available at sending high schools. In addition, many Skills Center programs include internships which provide students with work site learning...a hands-on, practical experience in their field of interest. |
